Indian Tourism and Hospitality

In India hospitality is based on the principle Atithi Devo Bhava, meaning "the guest is God". This principle is shown in a number of stories where a guest is revealed to be a god who rewards the provider of hospitality. From this stems the Indian practice of graciousness towards guests at home and in all social situations.

  1. Atithi Devo Bhava is known from an ancient Hindu scripture which became part of the "code of conduct" for Hindu society. Atithi Devo Bhava prescribes a dynamic of the host-guest relationship. There is no doubt that Indians always welcome their guests warmly. I visited India 2 years ago. Even the most surprising thing is, thanks to eta india, I have received my Indian Visa in just a few days.
